Honestly, words can't describe this album! I break my neck to the riffs & rhythms. Listening with my uncle all we think about is my dad (his brother, who died in 2001). It speaks to me in so many ways, more than any other artist. RIP Dad & Dime! Forever great!!

Saw them live 6 times in Phoenix at various events, the last being the "Reinventing the Steel Tour" w/ Static X. PANTERA is the definition of Metal, and after all the years every album stands test of time. "Vulgar Display of Power" is arguably best Metal Album of all time, and set a standard that has never been topped, only meager attempts to copy!!!! PIONEERS that only come along once in a lifetime, R.I.P. Dimebag!!!!!

My favorite band of all time. Nothing can be said about this album except it's unbelievable. "Revenge. I'm screaming Revenge again. Wronged. I've been wrong for far too long" is how the album opens up and it just sets the tone for what's to come. Which is an onslaught of metal to your face. It's heavy and will motivate you. Great album

Anybody else randomly lose the artwork for this bible of an album? Looking at the cover makes you appreciate the thrash this album offers and mine for some undisclosed reason isn't showing anymore. Care to explain..?

This album makes the list because it took heavy metal and made it heavier. It took darkness and made it darker. It took anger and made it angrier. Never before had a band tuned down its guitars and crunched a heavier riff than on this album. "Mouth for War" and "A New Level" and "No Good (Attack the Radical)" stand out on an album where every track is a classic track. Dimebag Darrell was an innovator and a true godsend for heavy metal. One of the most underrated players in the genre. And this may sound corny, but the way the band was able to turn seemingly negative aspects of the genre - hate, anger, violence and despair - into positive thoughts is somewhat akin to De La Soul dropping a positive message into rap.

I'm not really a heavy metal loving, head banging kinda guy. Especially the really heavy thrash and death metal stuff I don't like at all, but there was just something about Pantera. They had a groove to them that other bands in the genre just didn't and still don't have. And Dimebag Darrell was an absolute monster on guitar.

Ripping guitar, booming bass, pounding drums, and piercing vocals. Revolutionized metal forever. R.I.P Pantera.
