This is one of the best live albums ever. It made me a Kinks fan. I saw them in concert on this tour. The Kinks studio albums may be good but this live album made them legends. This album is a must have!

By home's where the heart is
Heard the Kinks sing it first in time to enter teen years - only an inkling of what they were singing about - though I was learning. These days folks use all sorts of modern ways to communicate - some still have phone conversations. For me , nothing beats face to face , especially when it's the one I really care for. Writing this heading back - only a bus, a train - but getting there. . . . . . 2 trains + 2 locals - 2 hotels, 3 cabs, . . . . didn't say I wasn't enjoying the journey - I really did ! - a dozen fun bus rides, three ferry boats, 2 courtesy vans, and a couple cocktails with vintage ingredients - all proof I more fully understand what the Kinks were saying as yes, YOU REALLY GOT ME . ( also understand I may well be into my second childhood - those buses were zipping over the water, bouncing down interstates, barrelling by far out farms, winding through quaint villages - who knew a 7 day ride ticket could bring so much joy to the young boy still inside )

We've all got live "In Concert" Albums. This album means more to me because I was at the Lowell, MA. portion of this album. Lowell Auditorium is an old semi-circular auditorium in the heart of the city on Merrimack Street. Kinks were great as usual. At the time, the Kinks were part of that "elder statesmen" group of British Invasion bands. Dave Davies is on fire on some these songs. A true souvenir of one of my all time favorite groups.
