I love this song. It's got such a great concept. It shows us everyone is they're own person and I should just keep doing what makes me, me.
  • Awesome

Beautifully done. I don't understand why this song never became a big hit. It's just as good as the others, and even better than some!

Although I've been a U2 fan for a long time, this video really took me by surprise; I'm blown away by the beauty and imagery. And the song is possibly the most beautiful, underrated tune on HTDAAB. I'd have to say- Best U2 video ever!!
  • Just simply beautiful!

One of the most understated and yet elegant and emotionally evocative song U2 ever did! I didn't love it until they played it on Conan, how I would love a copy of that! The video though is so lovingly crafted and really underscores what the greatest and blessing in my life is - my children. Bono can have my vote any day.
  • This song is amazing, as is the video.....U2 rocks!

I don't like the head thing, but like, 3 minutes into it Bono takes off his shades. And what happens next is mind blowing, because withouth the shades all these amazing tidbits of video fash by. Besides that, it's a great song.

I have listened to U2 for more than 25 years now. Again and again, I am touched by their deep sensitivity and spirituality. 'Original of the Species' has affected me more deeply than any before. Visually, I relate to development of a young child as my own son has recently turned 18. It illustrates the emotional connection and love a parent has for a child.
